  • Can I open a trading account?

    There is a practice account within the app that will allow you to test trade the market.

    There is no real market trading available during the test period. You will be one of the first to be invited to open an account once the accounts service is ready.

  • How long until I can open a trading account?

    You will be updated via email when Marketech Focus is ready to offer live trading and we will be releasing access on a first-come-first-served basis. We hope to have accounts for trading ready in mid – late January.

  • Will I be auto charged?

    No, you will be invited to sign up at the end of trial period. We will be offering credit card or direct debit payments for a monthly subscription to Marketech which includes access to the Focus platform.

  • How long is the minimum subscription?

    Monthly, with no lock in contract.

  • What trading account types will Marketech Focus offer when its live?

    Once the testing period is complete, it is expected that you will be able to open accounts of the following types.

    • Individual
    • Joint
    • Company
    • Trusts
    • Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs)

    The account opening process will be online and will initially be limited to Australian residents only.

    Marketech Focus will not be immediately available to professional investors or advisers.

  • Can I change the colour of Focus?

    At this time no changes can be made to the colour scheme, but we will review it over time based on feedback.

  • Does Marketech Focus offer live streaming?

    Live streaming should be available as an option in the coming months.

  • Why is the platform not loading?

    You will need to refresh the whole platform. Either refresh the webpage, turn the webpage off and start again, or hard-close the app and restart. If you continue to have problems loading, you may have issues with mobile or Wi-Fi coverage.

  • How do I get the app?
  • What happens after I register?

    After you have entered your email address and chosen a safe password, you will be queued to login to the platform as soon as we are opening it to the general public. We will have updates on our progress, and we expect this process to finalise mid to late January.

  • Is the app free during the trial?

    The app is free during the initial testing period and then included in your Marketech subscription. You will be notified when your testing period is due to lapse.

    At the end of the test period, you will then need to subscribe to Marketech to continue your access to the Focus app.

  • What features are available on the standard platform?

    In the standard platform you get the following: click to refresh data delivery, basic depth (coming soon), one watchlist with up to 10 stocks, basic 5 up and 5 down market movers and live news headlines with delayed articles.

  • Where do I change my password?

    1. Press the icon at the top right corner of the screen.
    2. Press the ‘my details’ tab.
    3. Once you’re in ‘my details’, press ‘Change Password’ tab, its highlighted in Orange.
    4. Type in your current password
    Then type in your new password and then confirm password, then press ‘Save’

  • Why are the Buy/Sell buttons at the bottom are blanked out?

    This happens when you aren’t logged into your trading account. You will need to enter your PIN number in the portfolio tab.

  • Can I resize the different sections?

    No, the areas are fixed in position to make the mobile version user friendly. You can open and close the side bars.

  • How do I log-in?

    You can log-in with your email address (or your username if you chose a username) and your own password. If you have misplaced your password we can reset it through the log-in page.

  • How do I log out?

    Click on the icon at the top right corner of the screen and click the ‘Log out’ drop down to log out.

  • Can I change my username?

    You can either the email address you signed up with or you can choose a new username in the ‘My details’ section of the platform under the icon. If you forget your username, you can still login using your email address.

  • How do I turn on alerts?

    Price and volume alerts will be available on the base platform. Click the icon at the top left of the screen. To confirm your alert hit ‘Save’. News alerts are on a toggle next to the stock icon. A summary of your alerts will be under the icon.

  • How can I view my watchlist?

    Click on the at the top right of the screen, and your watchlist will appear under the icon.

  • How can I add a stock to my watchlist?

    When searching for a stock in the search bar in the top right corner of the screen press the icon, then click ‘Add to watchlist’ and the icon will turn orange.

  • How do I find the technical indicators?

    Click on the icon at the bottom left of your screen. There you will find several different indicators, a number of them are customisable.

  • Is your fundamental data correct?

    The fundamental data is supplied by a third-party data supplier and should be used as a guide only. It should not be relied upon in your investment decision and you may find the data in the companies’ announcements or annual reports for details.

  • Why is the news delayed 20 minutes?

    In order to keep the price as low as possible on the base platform, live headlines will be offered free in the base/test platform and users will be offered an upgrade to live news articles in the near future.

  • How can I change the type of chart?

    Click on the icon at the bottom left of your screen, instantly a selection of charts will become available for your choice.

  • How can I place an order?

    Click the buy or sell buttons below the chart on the RHS. Limit order - A line will appear on the chart. Drag the line (using the large colour area with the price in it) to the price you wish to pay and click the tick. A ticket will open to confirm units and the total price. Market order – A ticket will open with the market price pre-filled. Choose the number of units to transact and accept the order.

  • Can I have more than one watchlist?

    The base platform and the test platform have one watchlist with up to ten stocks. Subscribers will have the option to upgrade to a platform with the option of multiple watchlists.

  • How can I see my portfolio?

    Click the icon at the top left of the screen and your portfolio will drop down.

  • How can I put a lock on my portfolio?

    Click on the icon at the top right of the screen and the select the ‘My details’ drop down. Under ‘additional security’ you can enable a timeout lock on your portfolio and other personal information. Selected the time and your security type. Your main log in password is required to do so.
